Filmmaker Radek Jaster Receives Funding for Art on the Trails Film
Last week at Expressions Art Bar in Southborough, the Southborough Cultural Council held a celebration to announce the 2018 Massachusetts Cultural Council grant recipients. Included in the list was a grant for $550, given to Northborough resident Radek Jaster, a senior at Algonquin Regional High School to create a 30-minute film about Art on the Trails.
After producing the 4-minute film about the closing event in September, I got the idea that we had a special story to tell, and the skilled artist who could help us tell that story. Radek is finding time between finishing his senior year of high school, applying to colleges, and making films for Assumption College to work on this project.
We are interviewing organizers, artists and poets and plan to show the completed film on Thursday, March 29th at Southborough Public Library. Another small grant was received by the Cultural Council in Northborough, where a second screening is planned in April.
We look forward to sharing this wonderful story with the public and will share the details of the screening soon. Stay tuned!
