2026 Art Juror

Lisa Barthelson is a multidisciplinary New England artist working in printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, photography, environmental installation, ceramics and found-object assemblage.  Barthelson’s work has been included in curated museum exhibitions including Plastic Imagination at the Fitchburg Art Museum, Family Circle at Danforth Art Museum, and Domestic Affairs: Domesticity, Identity and the Home at the Newport Art Museum, where her site-specific sculpture was subsequently acquired for the museum’s permanent collection. She also has exhibited in numerous competitive and invitational shows throughout New England and beyond, including juried group exhibitions and outdoor installations like her water rings environmental sculpture for the Art in the Park Exhibition in Worcester which was the recipient of The Jurors gold Award. Her ongoing family debris series reflects a deeply personal yet universally resonant interrogation of the objects that shape our lives, revealing the beauty, complexity, and environmental impact of the materials we use and discard. As a three-time exhibitor in Art on the Trails, Barthelson brings deep expertise in evaluating artwork for outdoor settings and a thoughtful understanding of how art can meaningfully activate public space.
