Woven willow fence, which moves through the landscape, tracing a boundary with no clear inside or outside. The work draws on a largely forgotten history: the wattle enclosures built around plague villages in medi Europe, constructed to seal the sick inside and protect those beyond the boundary. The fence was at once an act of care and an act of abandonment. To those outside, it marked safety. To those within, it marked the end. Visitors walking its length move through a question the land has held for centuries: who is being protected, and from whom?
