Clark Barnhart | wood and rope | For Sale. Inquiries: artonthetrails@gmail.com | The concept behind “Gateway” is finding completion and harmony with nature. By bringing an idea to nature, the environment provides what is needed to transform the idea into art. “Gateway” refers to my formative experiences as a teenager creating wooden gates on trails made out of scavenged wood and rope during summers spent at scout camp, symbolizing an entrance or gateway into the trail. It also refers to this being my first piece submitted for exhibition, marking a new beginning in my creative pursuits. “Gateway” is a collaborative endeavor with the environment: without nature, this piece cannot exist.
