8. Where Am I Going, I Don’t Quite Know
Sarah Alexander | Hand-hammered, welded steel | $9,000 Inquiries: artonthetrails@gmail.com | This piece is inspired by Spring Morning by AA Milne. My mother used to read it to me. Now that I’m older I can truly appreciate the wisdom in those words. Mom has dementia now, and reading the poems of my childhood brings me comfort. The third stanza focuses on shadows reflected in the grass, which my sculpture was designed to do, casting moving shadows like waning memories. After suffering a debilitating fall last year, uncertainty haunts me as I navigate a new normal. Where am I going? I don’t Quite know.
