Where We Never Wander
Charlie Smith Mixed stoneware clay, high and low fire glazes $1,800/sculpture Inquiries: artonthetrails@gmail.com Inspired by the abandoned structures and relics of the forests of New England, this sculpture series seeks to inspire curiosity, wonderment, and nostalgia. Playing off the ideas of decay, memory, and abandonment, both in nature and in human life, these works were inspired by time spent exploring the vast wilderness of the Northeast as well as time with my maternal grandfather, a builder who taught me many important skills and lessons and who suffered greatly in his final years with dementia, leaving behind a beautiful legacy and wonderful memories.
